CAREERS WITH CHILDRENStudents
will learn child care skills and strategies for working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children. Instruction includes the opportunity to plan and implement age appropriate activities and small group projects. Students will also develop resource information and learn about classroom management. This course includes an internship at a community classroom site.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT) REFRESHER COURSE
Central County ROP's EMT Refresher Course meets the U.S. DOT's curriculum and the National Registry's re-certification requirements for an approved refresher course and includes additional curriculum hours which meet the requirement for Orange County Accreditation (OCEMS).
Orange County has specific requirements to recertify your EMT certification depending on whether your current license is inactive, expired, or about to expire. Two modules are offered and can be taken individually or together depending on your specific need. Check the OCEMS website at http://www.ochealthinfo.com/medical/ems/ for recert requirements.

This
course prepares students to pass the Certified Nurse Assistant State Certification exam. In the class, students will learn how to deliver direct patient care related to
geriatric and/or chronically ill patients. Topics covered include
anatomy and body systems, medical terminology, technology, vital signs
and workplace skills. Students will certify in CPR. Worksite training
experience will take place at local medical/care facilities.

TRUCK DRIVING
Prerequisite: Must be at least 17 years of age.
Students will receive behind-the-wheel training in a Class A tractor-trailer to prepare them to take the Class A DMV driving test and become a license Truck Driver. Students will learn the rules and regulations used in the transportation industry
and yard training includes backing procedures and parallel parking. The program
emphasizes safe driving techniques and is intended for good drivers who
have experience with manual transmissions, and have no DUI convictions.
At the end of the class, students who qualify are taken to the DMV to test for a Class A license.COURSE CURRENTLY IN SESSION|

Training
will cover related medical theory. Students will go through physical
skills training and participate in simulations and supervised clinical
experience. Class includes eight hours of ambulance ride-along and
eight hours of emergency room observation. Upon successfully completing
this course, students can apply to take the Orange County EMT
Certification Exam.
