HIGH SCHOOL
COMPETE IN THE GOT MILK? COMPETITION
Orange, CA - Career Technical Education students from the Art of Graphic Design ROP program at Orange High School recently participated in a unique hands-on advertising competition to celebrate the 15th year of one of the most recognizable taglines in the United States: GOT MILK?. Sponsored by California Milk Processor Board (CMPB), the creator of GOT MILK?, and its advertising firm, San Francisco-based Goodby, Silverstein and Partners (GSP) this six week project culminated on November 10th with an all-expenses paid fieldtrip to San Francisco where five Orange High School students represented their fellow classmates and presented their campaign idea to the judges.
Chaperoned by Orange High School Assistant Principal Christine Hale and ROPInstructor Edward Hansbury, Design | Orange students Brianna Flores, Gabriel Peterson, Brennan Tucker, Edgar Campos, and Sofia Raygoza presented a creative concept that truly impressed the panel of prestigious judges. Orange High’s mythical, story book- themed concept featured Dr. Lactase, the protagonist, who travels from town to town, introducing people to milk: a superdrink that will help cure people of the ailments they suffer, like PMS, weak bones and unhealthy hair. Along the way, he recruits these people to join his caravan to spread the health benefits of milk. The students also presented additional ways, outside of TV, to market the concept via online and merchandising. The students received second place for their efforts and the class was awarded $1000. Congratulations Orange High School and ROP Instructor Ed Hansbury for a job well done!

CENTRAL COUNTY ROP STUDENTS SELECTED TO COMPETE IN GOT MILK? 15TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT
It's been fifteen years since the first GOT MILK? commercial appeared changing pop culture and the field of advertising. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, the California Milk Processor Board is sponsoring a statewide high school competition challenging students to create a campaign idea for what could be next for GOT MILK? Central County ROP is pleased to announce that students from the ROP Art of Graphic Design and Art of Animation classes at Orange High School have been selected as one of three teams to compete in this unique competition.

The project kick-off was held on September 24 when employees of longtime GOT MILK?'s ad agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners traveled to Orange High to teach the students about the GOT MILK? brand and the principles of advertising. Students then formed a mock advertising agency responsible for conducting research, writing strategic plans and interacting with clients. The project will end in late November when five student leaders from Orange High will fly to San Francisco to present their concepts to Goodby top creatives and founder Jeff Goodby. The school with the best concept will win statewide bragging rights and a prize worth $2000 for the class.
